Billy Ruff

Founder and Chief Connections Officer

Billy Ruff is a Hall of Fame former professional skateboarder who achieved world champion status in the early 1980s. Billy was sponsored by G&S, Swatch, and Nike. He contributed to the growth of skateboarding and inspired many along the way.

After ten years of professional skateboarding, Billy was invited to join Airwalk, an up-and-coming skate footwear company as their Southwestern regional sales manager. Billy quickly moved up the ranks and became their global action sports brand manager. Billy was integral in the growth of the company from $40 million to $285 million in gross sales in ten years. He left and co-founded ShaSha fine shoes. After ten years, he was recruited into the telecom industry as a director of business development. After 18 months, Billy realized that with the industry-wide current business model having multiple layers of middle men, the actual GCs were barely breaking even. He saw a way to increase the profit of the customer by 25% and the GCs an increase in revenue by 35%. He brought his business model to his current employer, but was rebuffed several times. He left and went out on his own and created RuffCase.

RuffCase, Billy Ruff’s enterprise, specializes in efficiently connecting major telecom companies like AT&T with vendors and general contractors for the construction of cell towers and bringing the most benefits to both. His diverse and unique experiences enable him to bridge gaps in the industry, create efficiency, and foster collaborations that drive successful projects forward.
